Sometimes growth comes from subtraction.
As summer draws to a close, instead of adding new initiatives, think about what to cut. Here are three things to stop doing - right now:
1. Stop mistaking noise for signal.
Not every KPI matters. Not every dataset is worth hoarding. Clutter clouds judgment. Strip back to the few signals that actually move growth, efficiency, and distinctiveness.
2. Stop waiting for perfect conditions.
Strategy decks. Budgets. Consensus. Leaders often wait for the stars to align. They never do. Meanwhile, competitors experiment, learn, and move. Delay isn’t neutral - it compounds.
3. Stop chasing the hype cycle.
Every few months a new acronym promises salvation. GenAI today, NFTs yesterday, the metaverse before that. Winners don’t chase hype. They pick what matters - then go deep.
These may not all resonate with you.
But if just one of them does - what will you do about it?
